College Park Skyhawks to Host Two Community Events This Week

Skyhawks Set to Impact Nearly 150 Youth Through PE Takeover and Panel Discussions on Wednesday and Thursday

WHAT:

On Wednesday, April 19, the College Park Skyhawks will host a panel for 25 eighth grade students and then take over a physical education class of approximately 100 sixth and seventh grade students at Woodland Middle School (East Point, Ga.) to provide a free basketball clinic. On Thursday, April 20, Skyhawks business staff will speak with approximately 50 students at the Kindezi School at Old Fourth Ward about careers in sports.

ATLANTA – The College Park Skyhawks, the NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, are hosting two different community events this week. Beginning Wednesday, April 19, the Skyhawks will hold a panel at lunch for a group of 25 eighth graders at Woodland Middle School to learn about careers in sports, and then the team will take over physical education classes for the remainder of the day to teach kids basketball. This is the Skyhawks’ second PE takeover, following their first at Drew Charter School on February 28. 

The following day, the Skyhawks will host another panel to discuss careers in sports for students at the Kindezi School at Old Fourth Ward. Members of the Skyhawks business staff will discuss their experiences and daily tasks with a group of 50 students.
