College Park Skyhawks and Goodwill of North Georgia Return to West Clayton Elementary School for ‘Curriculum Night’

Skyhawks Partner with Goodwill of North Georgia For Second Consecutive Year to Provide Parents with Access to Career Resources Through Mobile Career Center; Event Part of Year Four of ‘Colli’s Classroom’ School Adoption Program

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. – On Thursday evening, the College Park Skyhawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, in partnership with Goodwill of North Georgia, amplified West Clayton Elementary School’s ‘Curriculum Night’ for the second consecutive year.

The event, run by West Clayton Elementary, supported their mission to strengthen the school’s role as a hub for both academic and family well-being, while reinforcing the Skyhawks’ commitment to education, health and wellness.

“Colli’s Classroom gives us an excellent opportunity to build meaningful relationships with the students, families and staff at West Clayton Elementary throughout the school year,” said Janice Koon, Senior Vice President of G League Operations for the Atlanta Hawks. “We’re grateful to continue our partnership with Goodwill of North Georgia to bring valuable career resources directly to the families in our community and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact at West Clayton this school year.”

Through Goodwill of North Georgia’s Mobile Career Center, parents and members of the West Clayton community had access to career resources and employment opportunities throughout the evening. The career services center on wheels provided computer workstations, job skills and readiness resources, connections to local employers and hiring events, as well as access to Goodwill career coaches.

Thursday’s event continued the Skyhawks’ commitment to supporting West Clayton Elementary through the ‘Colli’s Classroom’ school adoption program. Now entering its fourth year, the program aims to positively impact the school’s 490 students and 80 staff members throughout the 2026-27 school year.

As part of the ongoing partnership, the Skyhawks will continue to host at least two events per month at West Clayton Elementary, including P.E. takeovers, career expos, reading days, mentorship experiences, holiday-themed events and other educational and community-focused initiatives.

 
“It takes everyone’s involvement to ensure that our scholars are successful,” said Rochelle Harris, principal of West Clayton Elementary School. “We’re grateful to have the Skyhawks and Goodwill as a part of our Curriculum Night because they help ignite dreams for parents and scholars while giving them the vehicle to strive for something more than what they may see on a day-to-day basis.”
