COLLEGE PARK — The College Park Skyhawks acquired the returning player rights to Tahjere McCall from the Long Island Nets in exchange for the returning player rights of Anthony Brown, it was announced today. The trade is not subject to a physical.
McCall played on the Atlanta Hawks’ Las Vegas Summer League team in 2019, averaging 11.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.5 steals in 31.0 minutes a game. Prior to Summer League, McCall spent the last two seasons with the Long Island Nets. In the 2018-19 season, he appeared in 33 games, averaging 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals in 26.1 minutes per game. The 6’5” guard appeared in one game last season for the Brooklyn Nets, recording four points and one rebound in eight minutes of play.
In 26 games with Lakeland in the 2018-19 season, Brown, a 6’7” guard from Stanford, averaged 12.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 steals in 16 starts (.414 FG%, .346 3FG%, .811 FT%), playing 29.0 minutes.
The Skyhawks begin the season on the road on Nov. 8, taking on the Erie BayHawks, the former G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks. College Park returns home to match up against the Delaware Blue Coats on Nov. 21, marking the first time the team plays at the Gateway Center Arena @ College Park. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. (EST).
